Is there any value to these coins?
What about rare ones such as an 1918d 8 over 7.
Thanks

dont pay more than 1/10th of the value of an untreated coin. most are worthless, well 5 cents, but the very rare ones can have SOME value.

Thank you for the feedback. I have a few and was wondering to try to get rid of them or hold them?
I may have a 1918-d 8/7

The only ones really worth anything with restored dates are the two well known varieties(1918/7-D and 1916 DDO) and some of the branch mints. Any Philly issues with a restored date have minimal value and those are best to use for practice in restoring dates

Where can I get date restorer? I have a bunch of buffs with no dates. Does it also work with pennies? I have some pennies that look like a possible mint mark on some.

The date restorer I have only works on Nickels. I have it a while and don't think it is on the market anymore. It is called coin date

I can't find the auction listing now, but a buffalo guide did mention that an acid restored 16DDO did sell for about $300 and a 1918/7D sold for $170.If I find the reference, I will post it later.

It is called Nic-a-date and will only work with nickels. You can find it at most coin shops and online coin supply retailers.
