Good morning,
In looking at this coin I think I can see some remnants of copper which makes me suspect it was removed intentionaly. This coin is very smooth and shiny and regardless of whether it was intentioal or not really doesn't matter. It just looks cool to me. What is your opinion on the missing copper? Though the photo doesn't show it the back is very smooth and shiny also
Many thanks
David

The reverse shows copper, what is weight? If copper removed it woul be less than 2.5gr, which its probably not. This is Environmentally damaged, whether by a chemical reaction, heat, water, sunlight? I suspect a cigarette lighter spent some time trying to give Ole Abe a hot foot...

Thank you for the quick reply. I am new to this and don't have a scale but I suspected as much.
Many thanks
David

The copper plating is still present but it has tarnished.
