I'm just glad to hear that Joe was not hurt or attacked in any way..

That could also have happened..and it could have ended very badly for him..

The coins and paper can be replaced..

..but this just in..https://canadiancoinnews.com/jm-dou...coins-notes/

Some one casing his business "overheard" his conversation perhaps in his shop with a known customer. Made it convenient for crook(s) by putting valuables in standard baggage, inside instead of trunk.

Very unlikely scenario given Joe's store is in Vancouver and the show is in Toronto. Someone "casing" the store and following him to Toronto is not going to happen. Why "case" the store when his attendance at the Toronto is already known through the Toronto coin show.

My LCS received the list of stolen stuff, and was wondering why this list did not provide the serial numbers of the banknotes and the ID numbers for the slabbed coins. Does anyone know if this information is available?

I recall hearing something about this on 680 news earlier today, but didn't catch the details.

There seem to be some discrepancy here. Earlier it was reported that the coins were worth in excess of $1 Million. Now it is worth $500,000?

Seems like a poor choice of location to install a security camera. Hopefully only 1 frame is needed for someone to recognize the suspect. Too bad a vehicle plate wasn't recorded as well.

The camera was probably placed there long before they grew into its view. No one has bothered to do anything about it.
