Well, not to blow my horn but I have had a couple lots for sale on here and the buyers were to pay CCF and not me, and I paid the shipping. I have also sent in a small contribution. Done this numerous times over the years and was a Supporter most of the time I have been active on the forum. Maybe there's a way for members to sell some extra numismatic items they have and ask the proceeds to be sent to CCF? There are a lot of inactive members who get free advertising in the banner/link at the top of every page that shows their ebay items they have up for sale. They came here long ago, linked ebay to their profile and wandered off. Perhaps to have the link advertise the sales of members, maybe they should be Supporting members? I mean why not? It would be another "perk" for being a Supporter and the dead beats who don't even come here would not have their items pop up, so yours would show more often. The forum gallery has some awesome coins inside but same thing. Some members have not visited CCF for a very long time but the space is free. I have a ton of images posted there and I would be willing to pay for the space I use. There are other forums for other subjects I have belonged to and they would give you a "gallery or albums" only if you were a supporter. I hate to see Bobby get disrespected like he did in the other thread. Sometimes I am convinced he is actually a real human being behind the curtain. I would not have the patience he has and that guy that posted the name calling would have been banned in a heartbeat. My hat also goes off to the moderators. The best ever, I mean try another site and see how they get pushy and big-headed. All puffed up with ego mania better than you know-it-alls. The mods we have are amazingly humble and seem to always be on the job, yet behave themselves as one of the family. Without the label under the name, you would never suspect they had a badge. Priorities Bobby and Susan. Take care of yourselves first.... and thank you.

Actually I have a script I run on the database at least once a month. If a member hasn't posted in 120 days it removes their signature, ebay ID, and eCrater ID. Those are perk for relatively active members only. Quote: When I try to post the post I wrote, it says the site is busy right now, Very sorry. The software is programmed to not allow posts that talk about blocking ads. I just can't have it. I know your intentions were surely good here in this topic, but the programming can't judge intent.

Even when removing any content related to those subjects it will not let me post.

Yes, I stand corrected as I just looked at the list of members on ebay here and see that they have been on for the most part within the past year anyway. https://www.coincommunity.com/members/

Coconutjoe, Thank you for giving this attention. It is good for us to be aware of a situation like this. In the other thread, bobby sites the ebay affiliate program as a main source of income for CCF. How exactly does this program work? Is it a CCF link for ebay where CCF gets a portion of anything purchased from that link, or something like that? There is a movie collectible forum where I used to be an active member which I supported not only by becoming a "premium" member but also by using their Amazon link every time I visit Amazon.com. That link is saved in my bookmarks bar in my browser. If it was the same type of thing with CCF and ebay, that would be a good way for members to support the forum.

It must be a stupid question, but where is the information how to donate?

I have the same kind of bookmark to Amazon (including an affiliate link) and would happily do the same with ebay for this site if I knew how to do that. Is there a simple link for that (e.g. ebay.com/whatever?affiliate_id=123), or do I have to occasionally click some link from here to ensure the right cookie is set?

Just signed up too. Not sure how much it will help, but I've been enjoying a free ride for admittedly too long.

Amazon link sounds like a good idea too. I buy lots of stuff from them both personal & for my business. I'm sure many of members use them too.

Just saw this and realized just how much I have benefited from the forum. I am sorry to hear about the financial troubles :( but even though I am selling off all my coins I still like to read and sell on the forum as I hate ebay fees. Time to give a little back as thanks! Just got a small monthly donation from my coin selling revenue. Didn't see how soon the supporter badge comes, but again thank you for all the work you do on the forum and for all those that give invaluable knowledge and fun!

Thank you for the donations everyone. I really appreciate it. Just to reiterate though, the forum is not in danger of "going under" since we resigned ourselves to the fact the house can't be saved, we've stopped paying the mortgage.

So am I to understand that these links shown on most every page are actually helpful in generating some income support for CCF when they get clicked on? If so, I never knew this and used to look at them as annoying but if these help support CCF when used, shouldn't we all just at least take a click and look at the contents in there from time to time? The Ampex one up top does not work for me. Takes me to a blank page but I have used it before ( I think ) So, do these banners actually generate money if we click on them?
