Thanks to jbuck and all others for kind words. Good comment, UltraRant, and thanks Coinfrog for reminding me of the term "year set," which I should have remembered. A collection is a collection, right? I happen to love Lincolns, because my dad got me started on them when I was about nine years old (how many others can tell a variation of that story?). The coins we pulled out of circulation I consider the heart of my collection. I've also completed a circulated set, built around those coins my dad and I found (the set includes a 22 no-D, but not a 55 DDO, which remains my white whale). I think Mr. VDB designed a beautiful coin, a masterpiece worthy of a museum display, and I also love all the different ways copper can age. There are a lot of other beautiful coins, and the Liberty Standing quarters and Walker halves are my next favorites, I guess, but Lincolns just make me happy. I can look at them all day.
