So a friend of mine stopped by today to show me a coin that he thinks is "something special". He tells me that it's diameter is smaller than usual and it's silver. He also thinks it a 1909. He hands me the coin and the first thing that I thought was it is a Dryer Coin. Upon a closer examination, I can see where the metal has been pushed toward the center all the way around the coin {like a Dryer Coin)covering part of the date. Under a microscope it looks like the number following the 9 is another nine which indicates to me that it is a "stinkin zincoln", hence the silver color. I told him that it is a 1990's coin and that the copper plating has all been worn away?
So I am here to post his coin to prove to him that its nothing special! Now I could be wrong in what I think it is, so help me out here guys. Thank you for looking!

I think you called it right.

Wait for another opinion -- I am often wrong.

Meanwhile, you could weigh it.

Interesting coin. I don't think that this being a Dryer Coin wouldn't explain why the copper plating has been stripped off, even in the crevices of the details. I'm thinking both chemical treatment and also mechanical damage.

You're right that it's nothing special and probably from the '90s. Possibly chemical and mechanical damage, as Spence said. At the least, it has been sanded or ground down, removing the copper plating.

It obviously couldn't be anything older than 1959 because it's an LMC.

Lincoln sure does shine through in the Memorial, though!

I did explain to him that it couldn't be any older than 1959 because its a LMC. I also explained I wasn't sure how all of the copper was stripped of of it. I beleive a lot of cruel things were done to this poor cent, dryer being one of them. I don't know of any other explanation as to how the metal all the way around it has been pushed toward the center.
All in all, Thanks to all of you, the point I was trying to make to him finally got through
Thank you everyone!! Your knowledgable input is Always appreciated!
