I received a second chance offer from an ebay seller on a Philip II PAX AVGVSTA Sesterius. The weight is 17.50 grams and the diameter is 30 mm. It looks good to me, at least there are no red flags jumping out, but the seller has had at least two negative feedbacks in the past for selling forgeries.

I have until Friday evening on November 9 to respond. Here are the seller's photos. What do folks think? Good or no?

Thanks for sharing your opinions.

That green is too shiny, it sure can cover up a lot, see why you're cautious, hears some faint sirens...?

It does have a 14 day return, but it's from a European seller so postage is $10.00+.

That you're asking us indicates you have some significant doubts. I'd pass, especially since the seller has sold fakes before.

Makes you wonder, why did the original buyer back down?

Second chance offers always made me wonder if the seller's shill got stuck on top.

There are a few areas on the reverse that look like raised corrosion that give me concern. I would pass on this coin.

I've learned from experience (usually the hard way) if you have even the slightest doubts (perhaps the reason for your post?)then pass. A better opportunity will come you way.

Thanks for the comments. I'm going to pass on the second chance offer. Too many "ifs" involved with this coin.

The coin looks genuine to me although it isn't my favorite color of green !
My only coin of Philip II is similar in color
The annoying thing about second chance offers is that you are being offered something that you might have had for a better price if someone had not bid you higher !
As far as feedback goes I have found many sellers I frequent that get the occasional accusation.
Being accused doesn't make it true and it seems the real charlatans have ways of getting bad feedback removed.

Personally if I were looking to buy I might chase $90 or so
It looks to be a VF and these bright green coins can be difficult to photograph.
The old "better in hand" variety
