Now that you say something, you can see an outline of something underneath and also it's cleaner in that spot than anywhere else on rhe coin. Good eye. Will acetone ruin a finish? Just in case this is the real deal.
Pure acetone will not harm the coin (find it in the paint section at a hardware store/Wal-Mart) but it will remove any glue if present.
Please do post results. I've seen a recent uptick in posts about these and am wondering if the fakes produced from the initial excitement are reaching general circulation.

I'll be going to town tomorrow so I can pick some up then and we'll see if it does come off. Either way it does look tampered with in some way. If it doesn't fall off then the only way to know for sure is to have it graded.
