Hello,

I have recently started roll searching for copper Lincolns and some halves when I find em. So far the only thing I'm real proud or happy about is a 1909, plain and (to me)worn.

My friend was showing me some of his collection and handed me a 1961 d that is blank on the edges and back. Visualy, the face shows copper and the edges and obverse are a grey/steelish kinda color.

We looked at it a few different ways and it is indeed the same thickness as a regular coin. Any advise or speculative values? I havent been able to locate one like his yet to compare.

It would be best to get some pictures and post them here. Without them it is very difficult for people to comment.

Does the reverse on the "blank" side have a rim? If not, I'm reasonably certain this happened outside the Mint, ie the reverse design was ground off.

No, I don't think it had a rim. I took a photo from the side. This is what I was thinking too about the polishing off, but as a new collector, wouldn't trust my own opinion on anything. Again, sorry about the quality.
