Tootallious & TNG, appreciate your comments. The design was hand hammered from the reverse which shows the skills of the silversmith. I also have the original wooden case by Hunt & Roskell for this medal. As luck would have it I managed to find the original news paper write up by the London News May 8, 1869 regarding this medal. Thanks again for your comments..........

My Twelfth Heraldic Art Medal "so-called" Half dollar.

1967 Mississippi Sesquicentennial with a riverboat on the reverse that sure looks like The Robert E. Lee Virgil!

My best guess is that these are two Choctaw Indians on the obverse.
