Using phone for now. So far my photo shop won't load. Not real happy with the new computer. I got a windows 7 professional model. But not getting it to work as easily as the other version. But I'll keep trying. It has paint on it, but not real useful.

You got me scared coop I went and copied all my coin files to a thumb drive. Thats all I know about backing things up.

My last PC died and had to take it to a Computer head shop - they transfered everything from my dead dog to the new tower - even though your guts may have bit the dust they can still extract your info from the hard drive - *** Political jab removed by the staff  *** |

Get er done Coop. Need you on here. Hopefully you don't lose anything. I back all my images up on a thumb drive, actually on two thumb drives. Can't imagine trying to take new images of my collection.

Keep the old hard drive, that's where everything is stored. Many times data can be retrieved.
I use Windows 7 Pro and get along great with it. Let me know if you need help finding software, if I don't have it, maybe I can help you find it for free or cheap.
I know my way around computers fairly well, email me if I can help out.

EDIT: I don't know what computer you have, but you can most likely install the hard drive from your old machine along side the new one, so everything from your old computer is accessible from the new one.
Make an icon on the desktop that goes to the old hard drive and there ya are!

The replacement computer also died after a few hours use. So I'm using my phone. Got the run around so far on the refurbished one. Not real happy where this is going.

It has power, the disk drive opens. Doesn't load up at all. The cooling fans sound like a plane taking off. Doesn't seem hot.

Sounds like something isn't seated properly. Try to re-seat the processor and RAM. Maybe even a loose cable somewhere.
Sometimes things get shook loose during shipping or being moved around.
Does the computer make any "beep" sounds as it powers up?

Good advice. I will assume you have cleared all vents of debris so that the chassis has proper airflow for cooling. Cat hair, am I right people?  |
