The replacement computer also died after a few hours use. So I'm using my phone. Got the run around so far on the refurbished one. Not real happy where this is going.

Hoping the supplier works with you concerning any hardware or major software and or driver support issues.

1 - Assuming new system supports Windows 7 pro.
2 - If it will not boot normal, will it boot in safe mode? If so -
3 - Check appropriate drivers are loaded. Mainly (to start with) video and network hardware drivers. They can present a road block if not. After network connectivity is established, updated drivers for other devices can (usually) be retrieved via the web.

If old HD is functioning, data should be retrievable. If old HD is dead then resort to backup data.

I think you already know, but on the old HD (and pending Windows ver. or OS.) your data is located were ever it was stored. Things like documents, short cuts and favorites are typically defaulted under the users profile used at the time of there creation. Note can also have been saved elsewhere if user desired.

CC me any PM's if needed. I'm typically busy during the day lately, but may or may not be able to assist if needed. Thanks, Doug.
