I added the total price of these coins (if each coin averages AU-50) and equals 58.90$ and the price is 28.00$ and no shipping(on ebay) *** Moved by Staff to a more appropriate forum. ***

If you were to sell them to a dealer, they would give you about $21 for the silver, definitely not worth $58, unless something had a very high grade. $28 sounds like a fairly reasonable price, assuming condition is really good, but don't expect to be able to sell later for a profit, unless siver has a significant jump.

It's a beautiful Canadian set - $28 yes - more than that NO!

That sounds like a reasonable price. I did a quick search and couldn't find any cheaper. Being in the U.S., I would have to pay shipping for it, though. 322941681604

The $59.90 list price is very inflated. Use caution with price guides. $28 seems reasonable enough, though.

Dealers are selling these sets today for about $26 and buying them for about $21. 1963 sets have been melt value items for about 50 years now and will continue to be so for at least the next 50 years.

Are the prices in US$$ or Canadian? Always be leary of quoted "book" or "value" references. Always look at "sold" ebay prices before jumping in.

Typical real retail is at that level. The only way to profit is to sell if silver value increased greatly.

No more than $28 for sure - they can be found for less if you are patient. Yes, if silver goes up a lot they will be worth more due to silver melt value. Wonder how many of these sets have been melted down over the years.

I get so frustrated with "price guides."
In working with coins and comic books, one thing holds true. Price guides are inflated in general. Most items sell for much less than the "price guide" says they are worth.
Except extremely high grades. In both comics and coins, super perfect versions sell for much higher than a price guide indicates.
It seems like it should not be a difficult thing to make a price guide that reflects the actual selling price of an item - drop typical grades by 50%, and inflate high end grades by about 2000%.

Quote: Hey Mark1959 here's the link, they have ten currently in stock So the BIN price is 31.50 Canadian. That would be 24.46 US dollars?

None of these sealed coins will by AU, they will all be uncirculated , BU to very choice uncirculated in grade or Proof Like in appearance.. no wear on any of these. There are always a lot of these sets out there..

28.00 with free shipping seems fair. I just bought a set as a gift for 25.00 but I had to pay shipping.

Also remember that these are PL (prooflike) coins, not regular circulation coins, which means that an AU value for a PL coin is melt. In general, for Canadian Coins, the PL coins are worth significantly less than the coins that were minted for circulation. They can be really hard to tell the difference.
