Yes MG, I have 3 of the one on the left and 2 of them show the underpunch much better than yours .. and the 3 have different Obv's.

Thanks MG for those excellent photos of J23 and P13! I had never noticed the repunch on the P13 before. Thanks Okie for clearing up my confusion about which reverse is the page 289 coin! There are only 2 obverse pairings listed in Dr. Haxby's catalog for Reverse P13. (Obverses 75 and 75a) If you do have 3 different obverses paired with the same P13 reverse, one of them isn't listed. I would love to see those. Quote: I see that the Obv G that I thought was triple punched just looks that way from the grotesque D/C running through it. Bill, Your description of the crack through the G of GRATIA sounds like Haxby obverse 77a. Could you look at that in the catalog and see if that is it?

PC59-701 Obv. 70 Rev. O1 This one also has a nice re-punched nine and if someone has a nicer example you'll find there's a lot of different things going on with this coin. Just look at all the clash marks on the rev. and all four digits in the date are re-punched my dreadful close-up pictures don't do it justice.

okiecoiner those 2 9's look different than any R/P 9's that I have ever seen and I have seen 1000's. Would be nice to see full photos of the Obv. and the Rev. of these 2 cents

The first one has been harshly cleaned with (maybe) steel wool or a Brillo pad. It was that way when I got it. I can't take photos. Look at the 1919 that I have in the regular Canadian coin forum here on CCF. Another coin that no one but me has ever owned.

Nice one Phil310, your coin and pictures would indicate all digits are re-punched ( Vickycent only refers to the 859 as doubled ).
Cheers, Bill

While looking through some old files, I found these old Griffin pages and they fit right in with the thread. Sorry I can't make them larger or clearer .. I gave the books that they came from to someone and I don't remember who.
Whoops .. the photo files of the pages is too large. Who wants to volunteer to get them email (one person only) and they can reconfigure and then post them.
