Hey Centavo! I'll try, may be a bit long, easy stuff first. The date and liberty is just damage. These devices are smashed flat, why they are largest. The 1 has taken a hit on the bottom moving it over. Now, the long part, bear with me. The IN GOD WE TRUST, thicker on lower, thinner on top is because this is a later die state and this has been polished a lot. On a normal new die, these letters are a certain equal depth in the die. Remember it is mirror image, these are actually cut in the die. The shape is slightly angled.so the deepest point will be thinner than the opening on the die face. When they polish the edge of the dies it is "bevelled"or rounded some. These edge letters on the die face then get polished off at a slight angle, top to bottom. The what used to be deep point at the top is now shallow, with the result being a skinny top. I hope it makes sense, it is confusing, but this is what's going on.
Remember these charts? Notice the shape of the devices, thin/thick and what would happen if polished down.
