Hey Doctorwho... I was inspired by your post and ordered a lot from the same dealer. Let me know when yours arrive and how they look. I will do the same. Can't wait!

I have baught uncleanes from him before. It's okay for a first time buyer because he won't rip you off completely, just a bit overpriced maybe. A good eye can find better deals elsewhere but takes experience. Don't Beleive him. When he says lots aren't picked over. They always are.

Bsr045.. I am new to this and admittedly need some help in this regard. Do you know buyers that offer better deals? I pretty much assume the coins will be picked over - if you can please lead us newbies in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated. I am not looking for a steal .. just fair value for the dollar. Please let us know.. thx!

It's mostly a feel you aquire after buying several lots and comming across a full range from terrible to great. Most of my good luck was from ebay, as close to the source as possible, perhaps the actual people doing the metal detecting. First thing I look for is good round coins nothing with too many jagged or rough edges. Also look for coins of different sizes this sometimes can indicate they haven't been sorted or picked over. you have to be patient a good lot worth the prices being dished out these days may only come arround once a month and you need to be actively looking.

I just received my order from Noble Roman coins...it took a couple of weeks for delivery.
I ordered some Premium Uncleaned ($1.45 each) .. and a couple of Semi Cleaned ($8)... Looks very promising so far... a lot of the dirt came off with just some water and a toothbrush scrub..see some great detail. Have them soaking in distilled water for now. Will upload a couple of photos
