Actually I didn't think to look up this one, mintage is a little lower on my 1942 proof Walker, at 21,120.

absolute numbers are relatively meaningless: what matters is the ratio between the number of surviving pieces of a particular coin and the number of potentially interested collectors in that type for areas of numismatics with 100,000 serious collectors any mint number below 100000 is making the coin rare the collectors dream : 1) find a numismatic niche which is still quiet and nice 2) purchase at reasonable prices 3) make the niche popular for a larger crowd of collectors by a book or via CCF 4) start selling

1578 Spanish Netherlands Province of Namur (Belgium) 8 mites (copper) unknown (but very low - probably less than few hundred) mintage number the reason is that the mint in Namur reopened in December of that year during very turbulent times

The lowest business strike coin in my collection would probably be the 1828 12-star Half Cent. No confirmed mintage numbers, but it would be somewhere less than 600,000.
