Coronet - Love that 65. I've got to say that looks like it's a candidate for the green bean. Nice luster. The eagle is always so hard to find without prominent nicks and scratches. Yours did just that. Congratulations on an excellent collection inclusion.

@moxking - thanks! Yours is excellent as well and I love the toning that Worn Out posted.

Great fun to see what everyone has - this bunch has really run the spectrum. Nice to see the variety. @nickelsearcher - love seeing the circulated versions, thanks for sharing.

I agree. A cloud doing #1 on a building just isn't a great choice.

The 'Old Swedes Church' in Wilmington, Delaware is amongst the handful of commemorative sites I've managed to visit.

Always have enjoyed coins with sailing ships on them ... in this case the good ship Kalmar Nyckel carrying the Swedish colonists in 1637.

My honestly circulated example is amazingly well worn ... given the 'commemorative craze' era which I have written about:

1936 Delaware Tercentenary Half Dollar - PCGS G06

This is the current PCGS Pop 1/0 lowball.

Enjoy

This thread started on 2/08 ... the day I began my annual desert walkabout, so I missed the initial 7 days with no electronic access.

I realize today is Thomas Edison day ... but in the spirit of ensuring the record eventually has a complete 50 coin type set of honestly circulated classic silver commemorative ... I'll use today as my catch up day to include the 4 examples that were posted during my absence.

As suggested on Page 1 ... lets not get OCD about the rules.

Soooo ... here we go:

1921 Alabama Centennial Half Dollar - PCGS AG03

One of my favorite Laura Gardin Fraser designs ... not so challenging to come by in VF/XF range but tough this well worn.

Can-We-Post-A-Complete-Commemorative-Collection?

1936 Albany Charter Anniversary Half Dollar - PCGS VG10

A member of the 'commemorative craze' ... and very challenging to find in circulated state. Gotta love the Beaver.

1937 Battle of Antietam Anniversary Half Dollar - PCGS VF35

Another commemorative coin location that I have visited. Posted a photo somewhere on the CCF of the Burnside Bridge in the same pose as William Marks Simpson reverse design.

1935 Arkansas Centennial Half Dollar - PCGS F15

Truly difficult example to obtain in honestly circulated state.

I'm now up to date with the circulated examples.

Enjoy

I should probably polish this slab someday, any suggestions on the best technique and polishing compound

Nickelsearcher - I hope your walkabout was refreshing. As far as rules go, this thread had been happily loose. I really enjoy the circulated examples as it gives me a much better idea about how some of my favorite coins fared during circulation.

You Terribly Bad Dog - thanks for keeping us on track. I have to say that the Edison seems to be completely uninspired. I can think of a half dozen design elements I would have preferred seeing.

I've enjoyed learning about the different modern commemorative s but that is not one I would buy unless I turned completest for the series.

The modern commems are no different than the CSCs in this regard -- there are several head scratcher designs. I am trying to complete the modern commems $1 proofs, so I get the head scratchers anyway. Still need 9 to complete it, just haven't found the coins I like at the price I want to pay yet
