Thanks for all the great photos. I have to admit that I'm thinking of collecting only Moderns under a given mintage limitation. If anyone has a quick and handy listing of moderns with attached mintages, I'd love to review that. I know I could probably find that myself, but I have to huge orders to get out this morning and get to the post office. That's my excuse.

I've been travelling the past few days and so have missed posting the last few days of modern Olympic coins. Back home now. Here are my contributions to today's Salt Lake City Olympics coins ...

Quote: If anyone has a quick and handy listing of moderns with attached mintages ... I can provide this for the proofs, but I don't collect the UNCs. Maybe someone else can provide it, or there's always the RedBook The list of dollars is long and including them all in a single jpg made the font fairly small, but I think it's still readable.

Thanks so much, Bad Dog. I've been waiting for the new issue of the Mega Red. Ill check Wizards again and see when they are shipping.
Bad Dog. That's as much abuse as my own hound ever gets, and if I say it, he acts like I've whipped him. Pouts for an hour.

The eagle on the reverse of the '84 Olympic dollar has always been one of my favorites. That's the reason I picked one of those up!

I want to say thanks to everyone for sharing their coins. It's been great fun for me to see all the ones that I've thought about but haven't yet committed to or purchased. I only have about a third of the classics and even less of the moderns, but I really like the designs. And to see the original packaging, getting insight into why the coins were produced, etc. has been very interesting. I know its a pain to take photos and upload them, but thanks for participating. Looking forward to Thursday when I can share again! In the meantime ...

Muddler,
The mintages I listed are for the proofs only. I should have put that in the table titles and not just in the post's text. As I said, I don't collect the UNCs and so didn't have those mintages readily available.

Closing ceremony day for the Olympics .... finally! There are A LOT of Olympics coins. The multitude of Olympics coins is reminiscent of 1936 deluge of commmemorative coins that ultimately led to the commemorative coin hiatus. This multitude of coins is why I quit collecting commemoratives over 20 years ago and only recently decided to finish my sets. I'm sure that's TMI for most, so here's my contribution for the Seoul Olympics day, the Half Eagle proof ...
