That was quite a journey through the various Olympiad coins. Appreciate everyone sharing their examples. Returning to the classic silver series ... the multi year Oregon Trail is often cited as a favored design ... it certainly is for me ... as the husband - wife team of Laura Gardin Fraser and James Earl Fraser had produced a true visual classic. The 1926 example is relatively available in circulated state, although the later years are nearly impossible to find in the market. Here is mine: 1926 Oregon Trail Memorial Half Dollar - PCGS VG08 Enjoy

Most definately one of my favorite coins of the CSC. In fact, I'd put it at the top. It's the only "series" within the CSC that I'd actually consider buying a complete set. But that dreams would still be far behind my other goals. Got a couple to show - Note that little white 'scratches' on both are on the holder, not the coin. Lost the reverse photo of the 1938-S, and I'm too lazy to go find it. My dog tried to help. No luck.

This 1937-D is my latest Oregon pick up. Bought it in February raw and had it encapsulated at PCGS in March-April. It is my favorite Oregon I currently have. Came back PCGS MS-67+

Here is a pic of my Oregon tribe. I guess I have a problem with these as whenever I see a nice one at a decent price, I pick it up. With the softness in the prices of these over the last 5 years, there have been some good deals out there. I need a 1939 set and a 1933-D to finish the set. I have found the 1933-D is tougher to find than most of the others.

That's sweet @bandsdean! Any chance you have a close up of that 26-S in the NGC holder?

Enjoying this thread! Thanks for everyone's participation. Coin looks better "in hand", so I posted these pics. Rated MS66 by PCGS. Viewer discretion advised.

I must be weird. Yes, the Oregon Trail is well designed, and well executed, but it honestly doesn't excite me. That's why (I think) I was more then happy with my 65CAC. I think I root for the underdogs, and since the OT is so popular, I'm turned off by it to some degree. Much like Morgans (Yuck).

These are yucky, and will be upgraded. For some reason, this is a design I like a lot. Bad white balance

@bandsdean - that OT is stunning! Here's my Panama-Pacific. It was one of the coins I was most excited about getting when I first got into collecting. In retrospect, I feel like I got taken by my LCS and didn't know better. Bought it raw, didn't know how to evaluate, paid too much. But at least it was a step towards learning. Just sad that what I was most excited about ended up being my teaching moment ... but I guess that's how it works.

Here's my MS62. Still need that silver piece -- not easy to find one without much ring toning and for a good price.
