I also forgot to mention that Vermont is one of my very favorite CSC, not just because of the fantastic cat-amount, but because of the August 16th date, which happens to be my BIRTHDAY.

Another of the coins authorized by PL 103-186, the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Silver Dollar commemorative was to be Quote: emblematic of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial. IMHO, this design does meet the intent of the authorization. The medals depicted on the coin's reverse are the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, the Vietnam Service medal and the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal. Here is my example of the proof silver dollar...

The BTW half is common in circulated state - at least for the 1946 initial year of issue. Not surprising given that date across all 3 mints accounts for the vast majority of the coins issued during the six years available. An interesting observation of the coins design as it wears to truly worn state is that the relief of the date is higher than the majority of the other legends and portraits - so it wears away while the coin design remains largely recognizable. Such as the situation with my top pop lowball - no BTW will ever certify lower than AG03. 1946 Booker T. Washington Memorial Half Dollar - PCGS AG03 Enjoy
