Thanks to all for sharing ideas that will keep me going a long time. If anyone knows of any more animal coins, I would be grateful for additional leads. Slabbing: I knew this was seriously limiting my choices, but the pictures reminded me of what should have been a no brainer. The clsssic U.S. coins I buy all come slabbed, or if raw, go immediately into awhitman or Dansco album. But way back when I was a kid, and there were no TPGs, I kept, and still have, coins in those timeless 2x2 staple together white cardboard holders.that I had no albums for. A perfectly good answer was under my nose, and I didn't see it. This opens the door to every coin I can find that is not slabbed. That is good news to me, because I find circulation issues infinitely more interesting than modern bullion coins, which I view with a skeptical eye that is probably the result of rare coin snobbery. Bats: my wife likes bats, too, although her favorite animal is the giraffe. I have always thought that the eagle on the Washington quarter reminded me of a bat, and the eagle on the Walking Liberty half reminds me of a turkey. But I see shapes in clouds.
