Hi All

I recently discovered this forum and noticed there are a lot of decimal collectors.

I am wondering if anyone can help me. I recently found this 2 cent coin missing the SD initials. However, it is a 1966 coin and I thought it did not occure in this year. Can anyone tell me how 'common' the variety is in the 1966?

Your help is much apreciated

Just searched through 48 1966 2¢ pieces and mine all have SD. I do have a 1969 without SD but that's from a strikethrough grease by the look of it.

Thanks For the link. Sounds like it is most common in the 1966. I probably looked through a couple of hundred 2 cent coins. I found 3 1966 with missing SD's but at closer inspection found that two actually had traces of the SD's visible under high magnification. Perhaps they represent various stages of the filled die.

There used to be a seller on ebay regularly offering 2¢ missing SD's.

Haven't been following them lately, only 2 for sale at present, 1967 & 1981, different sellers.

the sharpness of the claws on one of the sides, I forgot which one

for 1966 I think 2nd claw sharp is the lowest mintage mint.
