I wanted to run this coin by the forum for an opinion. The Obverse shows some type of Machine Doubling on the Date and on some of the letters on word Liberty. Very faint on the Date.

On the Reverse it can be seen on E PLURIBUS UNUM, ONE CENT and UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. Much stronger on E PLURIBUS UNUM.

What are your thoughts?

From the images provided, I'm not seeing a doubled die.

It's certainly not THE doubled die for that year. Slim chance that it could be a minor doubling.

That is the way they all look. Part of the design. Check other examples you can find.

Looking at it I think I see how the letters appear to be doubled. Of course I have not looked at it with a magnifying glass yet under good lighting yet. The first thing that had caught my eye was the hub thickening and wavyness of the steps. Totally forgot to mention them. After thinking I had a good double die I just got excited. LOL.. I will take a closer look later to see what is really there.

If it were the big doubled die, you wouldn't even be asking us. It is that obvious:

It is not just the date area that is affected. The motto shows it even more. The 1968-1972 cents had a lot of Machine Doubling on them. So it is common to find MD on that year as all are looking for the big one.

The sought-after, and most infamous doubled die error of the Lincoln Cent Collection is the 1969 -"S" (San Francisco Mint) doubled-die. Your coin is a 1969 with no mintmark (Philadelphia).

Ok. Thank you for your input. I was hoping for personal opinions not references to books or known recorded coins considering how many classes of doubled dies are known. How many doubled die classes are there again? I forget.
