It is British. Or it was, before someone damaged it. Looks like the 1806-7 copper penny or halfpenny; example. Those three staple-shaped dents in it aren't supposed to be there. I am assuming this coin has been modified into a piece of jewellery, intended to show the king's portrait.

And given that the French coin is 26 mm in diameter, that makes the British copper a penny, since it looks a good deal bigger.

Definitely British George III but I think might be the 1799 Half Penny - the portrait is bigger and stronger than the 1806/7 version. Diameter of the coin would help.This what it might have looked like originally:
