I am surprised to hear A FTY prefix is out already. If they started at FTW then they have distributed over 20 million notes already...

Quote: I am surprised to hear A FTY prefix is out already. - I got my first FTY (5M range) today so the first 2 prefixes have definitely been released. In fact, there have been 2X more FTY entered in the SNDB than FTW (plus 2 FTZ notes entered).

I'm still perplexed about having to make a order for these notes. I was planing on walking in and asking for a couple of G's worth. Now we are saying they could say no... Maybe wearing my ski mask, when I ask will help.

My wife has been trying to get them at the downtown Toronto central banks (which are typical distribution centres). Rarely encountered a few obstacles on the "150" $10 when she ordered half a brick (500) but is getting nowhere with these new ones. She's only been allowed to take 10-20 at a time.

My favourite teller at the bank asked me if I'd seen the new 10 dollar bills yet when I was there today. I was paying my credit card blll with the very purpose of asking if the new bills had arrived but was waiting for her to finish processing my payment before I asked. The bills just arrived today and they also had some come in from a client as well. I am getting a bundle tomorrow.

I got 7 FTW given out in Winnipeg as payment from Provincial Stamp & Coin. Saw they had some at the RBC at 1300 Pembina.

GTA is awash in FTW and FTY.
They are now at virtually every bank (have not tried BMO).
As of last Wednesday machines both ATM and recyclers in the branch were not accepting the notes in several branches and ATMs tried.
If you look at the twitter feed #vertical10 and #violadesmond it makes you feel like this probably was an event of a lifetime in terms of a bank note entering the circulation.
It easily beats the $5 with the space station and Chris Hadfield.
Also it seems like at many of these events FFB was given out.

I went to the royal bank yesterday in the West Island of Montreal, they told me they don't have them and do not foresee to have them anytime soon. I told her that they have them downtown and she had no answer. Wouldn't even take a order. Weird............

Quote: Weird............ - I hear you! A couple weeks ago I went into my favourite BMO (where they've always been so accommodating in the past) and asked them to get me some. The head teller said she didn't see them getting any & I had to cajole my way into getting her to enquire. Today, when I went into their branch to dump some new $10 I checked for special numbers, she took her post-it memo to remind herself to order new tens and tore it apart saying she didn't need that anymore as I got my notes. And they're not the only branch who's become very hard to get some assistance from in terms of getting new bundles.

Quote: I'm still perplexed about having to make a order for these notes. I was planing on walking in and asking for a couple of G's worth. I was able to put in an order a week ago for 100 $10s at a TD bank in Calgary and picked them up today. I also managed to get one out of a drive-thru ATM at a different TD bank a couple days ago. I can imagine some banks don't want to go to the trouble of doing this, so stop at a few and hopefully you can find one that will order some. So I got two ranges plus a random note in between, though I noticed there were a lot of missing notes. In fact I think there was only one run of more than 10 consecutive notes. Quote: Very nice design & only a Back Position Number (BPN) that I can find. Correct me if I'm wrong- but so far have not been able to detect a Front Position Number (FPN). If you look at the front of the note and hold it vertically, the FPN is just above and left of Wilkins's signature. And for those wondering the BPN is right beside the holographic window and is more obvious. Hope this helps.

@Canada67. Thank you. I thought it would have been somewhere in Quebec. I am wondering if people in BC are getting to see FTZ. In GTA there have been some FFA and lots of FTW and FTY. I have not seen a single FTZ.
