herbaby Valued Member United States 79 Posts	Posted 03/21/2018 4:13 pm Would someone(s) mind opining on the virtues of pickling (white vinegar) versus acid raising. Does pickling damage the coin at all or should I say damage it less than acid raising? Report this Post to the Staff

Crazyb0 Rest in Peace 10197 Posts	Posted 03/21/2018 5:02 pm Herbaby, I use a 50/50 mixmof apple cider vinegar and hydrogen perioxide. When using this the WHOLE coin is affected. In a Nic-a-date3(sulfuric/nitric acid) it is applied ONLY to date. I think it just makes the coin quite ugly to be half-baked. The vinegar mix takes all the surface evenly, giving a noticeably altered coin but a little better to look at. I don't like nic-a date at all! Report this Post to the Staff

The latest new ones are: 1916 (5), 1916-S, 1917 (3), 1917-S, 1919, 1921 (a hole filler!), 1924, and 1925. Also of note, I neglected to mention that one of the coins has a good sized clip - a 1913 Type 1. CRH Nickeloholic. 1,600,000 nickels searched in eight years! Have found FOUR complete Jefferson sets! All but 10 coins have been revealed now... the date reveals for the past two weeks: 1913 T-1 (yes, I missed another one)... 1913 T-2 (3), 1914 (2), 1915 (2), 1916, 1917 (2), 1919 (7), 1920 (2), 1921, 1923, 1925 (3), 1926 (2), 1928. Also, of note...
