Hi all, does anyone happen to know how much a 1999 Clad Proof Set with the " Close AM" reverse cent? Thanks in advance.

Of course most of the value depends on grade, but the upper grades such as PR-68 and PR-69 have been selling in the $300 to $400 range.

NGC or PCGS are the only two to consider for grading these.

Thanks ND. In your personal opinion, do you think the value will go up , or come down with time?

I had a 1990 Proof set with the no mint mark cent I purchased on a visit to the Denver Mint. I was just sick when I realized my bag got switched with my ex-brother-in-law upon returning home. Being almost a year later before I was aware of the mistake, well, I never got the proof set back. It has gone from a few hundred dollars, back then, to $7,000 in value today! If you have one of the 1999 sets I would sit on that baby a long time before making any decision about selling. I never dreamed the 90 set would see $1000 let alone the levels now being paid to get one. Keep in mind you are only sitting on the price of a proof set, put it away, and watch what happens. One thing is for certain---YOU are NOT going to loose any money on the set!

Just to show my dedication to numismatics I will offer, at this time, to purchase that 99 set from you if you do have one? At least this way I will know where it is at and that it is being loved and cared for! PM me if you do wish to sell!

I am shocked that people pay this much for them now. While it is a neat circumstance, using a business die versus proof die just doesn't thrill me.
They have pretty much leveled out since the discovery, so I don't see them losing ground. If (and I mean if) the Linocln series gets a major boost in 2009 with a redesign, the price could jump quite a bit.
If it were mine, and I could find a buyer, I would sell now and take the money and run.
