My favourite are lettered-edge capped bust halves in AU and above. I have just one, but it might be the only series that I would care to build a set of in the future (excluding the 1815).

Completed according to my criteria for completion which means every mint/year but no error coins I have the following comepleted:
Small cents (1857 to 2019) and in some cases more than 1 set.
Liberty (V) Nickels
Mercury dimes
Walking Liberty
Bison Nickels
Peace dollars

That's it. Almost all are circulated, some I have in BU. BUT I like them circulated.

I don't really have a favorite but I REALLY like Mercury dimes.

My favorite U.S. coin design is the Walking Liberty half dollar. I have about 40 of them ranging in grade from VG-8 to MS-66, including a circulated roll. Here is my highest grade (pics are yellowed, not the coin):

A second for the Walking Liberty half dollar. I have at least one example of each year and Mint Mark from 1938-1947, a total of thirty-three coins. I have two 1940, 1940-S, 1941, 1941-D and 1941-S examples. All of them are mint state examples.

For the past year and a half I have been collecting the less common design type transition varieties of Barber dimes. So far I have 14 coins representing 9 of the 11 that I consider "less common", plus some examples of the normal and/or first issue of the type, and including a couple duplicates. It's fun to find a niche that almost no one else knows about. Here is an 1899-P "early release" of the 1900 Reverse Type 2.

May I amend slightly the question? "How many...have you owned?". I've been at this a long time and can truly say I own or have owned at one time just about everything with which I was seriously enamored. Thankfully, I don't care about most of the really big buck stuff (1804 Dollar, 1913 Liberty, 1822 Half Eagle, etc). I felt fulfilled having owned a 1792 Half Disme, S1, S2, S3, S4 Chain Cents, 1796 Dime and Quarter, 1797 Eagle, numerous bizarre patterns, 144 pc early tenor silver commemorative set, ancient coins of various sorts, complete block set of Small sized United States Notes all denominations ... the list is fairly long but short when considering the possibilities.

I've also been at this for a long time, but I never owned any of the following items I'd like to have:

- Spanish colonial 8 escudo
- Roman Aureus or Quadragatus
- Athens owl tetradrachm
- UK shield guinea
- Any UK commowealth coin
- more dated coins from the 1400s
- 1795 dollar
- 1794 cent
- early (pre-1834) US gold
- 1891-CC, 1892-CC, 1893-CC dollars (1889-CC is too expensive)
- any CC or D gold coin
- no Motto $10 Indian gold
- 1928 Hawaiian half dollar
- Panama Pacific $2.50
- and the list goes on and on

My favorite would be my reeded edge Capped Bust half dollar. I have the lettered edge half as well. Mine has a great blue/purple toning, and I like the large size to the coins too. Sadly, it's my only one.
