There were two varieties made this year: 1909 VDB and No VDB. Both look normal to me.

Genuine circulated Lincolns . The V.D.B. can use some conservation .

The no VDB is worth a couple of bucks; the VDB 5 or 6 bucks.

They are not pennies.... They are Cents. The U.S. Mint has never struck a penny. UK has:

Yea Coop! A man after my own Heart! The reason behind this was the abhorrence of anything British after the Revolutionary War. NONE of our Fumbling Fathers(well maybe not Hamilton...) would have EVER dreamed of saying a "penny",...Shame on you... Just because a certain segment of imports wants to keep pushing it, don't mean it's so...

Try buying a collecting book for pennies? There is not one that says pennies on them for the U.S. coins. All of the books say.......... Cents.

Nice finds. Once I went to the bank and asked for $10 in cents. The teller looked at me like I asked for a sack of rats and said, "Do you mean pennies?"

It is harder to find a wrapper with the word cents on it. But you won't find a coin book for pennies. I guess that is how you can identify a coin collector. If they ask for cent rather than the 'P' word.

Last time I went to the bank and asked for a box of "P's" the teller said "You mean cents". Turns out she was a collector as well.
