Here I go again diverging from my area of expertise...
What do you think, is it real? If so, what grade would you assign?
The seller - our local version of ebay - guarantees the coin's authenticity. I have no opportunity to view the coin in hand. Thanks!

The coin is not one you want in your collection. The coin at best has been cleaned or overdipped. It does have the look of a none genuine Morgan.

To me eye, it has the look of a modern fake. The circulation patino looks fake.

Agree! The color is off. A grey Morgan does not occur naturally in nature.

And I guarantee that it's not authentic.

Yep. Looks Fake.
Is the seller located in NZ or China?

The seller is in NZ and may very well not know how to tell a fake from the real thing. They deal in collectibles of all types. Coins - especially US coins - are a tiny slice of what they have for sale.

Anyway, I agree that the colour - and the smeary toning - looks bad. Thanks.
