I enjoy seeing those. I remember seeing Encased Cents when I was a kid.

I've been having a similar conversation on a UK forum in the last week. Our version is mostly the encased farthing. I used to be a collector 10 years ago when they were really inexpensive, but now prices are moving north quickly. If you're interested, buy them now while there are still some bargains to be had. I don't know what has sparked the renewed interest but do wish that I hadn't sold up when I did.

@alganbagerap, I think that they may be moving up in price as they are rarely made any more. Certainly the older "vintage" ones command quite a lot more than the ones from the 1970s.

@oriole, true but the prices remained static for a long, long while. It's only in the last three years that a vibrant market has developed.
