Always wondered about the spelling "TRVST"
Latin. Chances are your local COVRT HOVSE does the same.

The Peace dollar bust is like the early flowing hair coins and French Republican coins. It's dynamic. It's a real Italian American woman out in the breeze, without her cap. The tiara is a little over the top, but oh well...maybe she's headed for a dance up in Harlem.

The rest of our Liberties look like Queen Victoria, Moll Flanders or Martha Hoople...or some combination of all three.

I think the Peace design is beautiful. It's obviously different from the Morgan, but that doesn't mean it's any less of a design.

But I do have to say, if they were both cookies, I'd rather bite into a Morgan.

I'm becoming intrigued with this issue. Today I ordered MS-64 grade examples of the 1922P and 1924P issues. I want to have a benchmark as to what to expect in various grades. I'll likely pick up representative MS-60 and MS-62 examples, and perhaps other lesser grades, to use to compare raw coins to.

The 1924 appears to have a few die cracks in the hair bun area.

Any learned comments on the mottled appearance of the 1924? - a very worn die?

Metal flow my guess, given the die cracks.

For the 1924, I'm thinking metal flow.

The 1922 is struck well. The 1924 is pretty soft, but I like that sandblasty matte finish. The best struck coins in general are the 1924-1925-1926P, the worst are the San Franciscos.

Peace dollars aren't noted for having remarkable toning. Over years of digging through thousands of loose coins, I've picked up black, blue steel, and coffee tones. But never a rainbow. The best looking tone is gold IMO, like your 1922.

My lot of 4 Peace dollars - 1922 to 1926 - arrived today and am happy to find they are as described. Seller's pics posted earlier are better than I can take.

Cool coins. The 1922 is toned and the 1924 has no tone?
