27 grams; 38.10 mm. I'm a bit nervous about that edge.

Weight? It's a darned good injection mold if it's fake, and that would cause it to be below average weight.

Does not look like a fake though there is a defect at the edge.

Looks genuine to my eyes; a lot of these coins were heavily polished before that became a collecting no-no.

I would probably have it certified if you read it at 38.1mm. 1886 was a transitional year from 38.6 to 38.1mm, and the later 38.1mm are worth a good premium.

I don't see anything suspicious.

The damage at the edge is probably from a jewelry mount/finding, although it looks like that would make the dragon upside down.

Any good tricks to tell if the coin is kosher, or most of them in the series, including the trades?
