Around 1915, my grandmother carried with her out of Russia the four coins photographed in the image uploaded here. The reverse side of the coin just says "Ruble," with no denomination indicated. I presume that the dates (1613-1913) refer to the 300th anniversary of the founding of the House of Romanov, the last imperial Russian dynasty. I presume that the two individuals depicted on the obverse side are the dynasty's founder, Michael I (in the background), and the last Tsar of Russia, Nicholas II.

Does anyone know where I might be able to learn more about these coins, including current market value?

Thank you in advance for any assistance. My apologies if my post breaches any protocol of which I am not aware. This is my first post here.

@DBinSV, first welcome to CCF. Second here is a link to these commemorative rubles which should give you some nice information:

From your pics, it is a little hard to tell if you have the low or high relief portraits version.

Added: sorry if you already know this, but you absolutely shouldn't polish or clean your coins in any way.

@Spence, thank you so much for providing the link that describes this coin!

Also, I appreciate the reminder not to polish or clean the coins. I had heard this decades ago, as a child, but it's good to be reminded.

I believe what is in my possession is the low-relief version of the coins. I say this on the basis of looking at images of the high-relief version.

If I did want to sell these coins, is there a "sticky" somewhere on one of the forums here that addresses this question?

In case you are still wondering about the value of these coins, you can check this link for what they have recently sold for on ebay:

Maybe somebody else here can comment on whether it could be wrth it to have your coins professionally graded before you try to sell them.

Thank you so much for the helpful link, @tdziemia!

Together with the link kindly provided by @Spence, I have enough to at least positively ID the coin and get a sense of approximate value. I will not actually be selling the coins but rather passing them along to a nephew.

Also, thank you to @Dorado and @jbuck, for their warm welcome to the forum. Most appreciated.
