Hey guys, picked this up yesterday and was wondering if I was ripped off or what at $70, (as a side note it's an 1865/1865 that's why I got it even at $70) There's a separate thread for it on the error forums if you guys are interested.

Thanks everyone

I think about au55bn with light circulation. The weak letters in the reverse may be due to a Grease Filled Die. There appears to be light corrosion/pitting in the right reverse field seen most clearly near the R and C in AMERICA.

AU-55, somewhat blotchy and with possible ED which close-up pics might reveal.

AU-55. Better pics will help in checking for environmental damage.
Rest in Peace

You paid a bit above list for this quality of coin $50-60 even w/ OVD, there is a slight market for these but not an active one, least I ain't seen one. That said is a rather nice circulated example, try a soaking in acetone and possible Verdicare, will only help the eye appeal.
Rest in Peace

I'm sorry to be a grumpy but that has been dipped and Retoned poorly. I recommend looking at a lot of NGC and PCGS copper and compare those that get details, cleaned, and those that don't.

I don't think anyone who has bought raw 2 cents haven't bought a dipped or cleaned at least once, myself included.

Once done, the color never recovers, at least not in a lifetime.
