I think their asking prices are ridiculous enough to turn away any legit buyer. A legit buyer would know what "Detail" and "Damage" means and the absence of a DDO designation.

For sure, you would think that anyone willing to spend in excess of 10 thousand dollars on a coin would be able to detect this obvious scam. Maybe if the seller's prices had been about 100 times lower, he may actually have some luck getting someone to fall for it.

PCGS should have included "Likely Post Mint Damage"

As long as you're honest, you can ask what you want. Still don't mean you'll get my cake. Thanks, Doug.
Rest in Peace

His marketing scheme is just misleading.

Yes it is somewhat misleading, and there's nothing wrong with pointing that out. My problem is whenever someone points out something like this everyone starts clamoring about wanting to report them to ebay, or report them somebody and get them removed, usually simply because the person is asking way more the piece is worth. Sorry if you thought I was calling you the price police, we've seen auctions like this for years and there are a lot of people out there who want to be the price police and get anything removed the faith feel the seller is asking too much for, in their opinion. When ebay first began they always stressed that they were "just a venue" and it was always assumed that caveat emptor was the rule. To a large extent, I like those days better.

A sellers asking price is his business not mine but when there trying to mislead I do have the right to point it out

You may want to point out quite a bit more if you examine the business practices of many companies. Individual ebay sellers are a joke compared to the other scams we buy into. But, I'm not discouraging you from calling out ebay sellers. I'm just not sure who's listening.

Whether the person really thinks that it is valuable or whether they are doing this as a joke or trying to fool somebody is beyond our knowledge, and certainly beyond the policies of ebay.

Agreed. ebay currently allows no outlet of retribution for such sellers. It may get too deep into what we call "morals" and that never ends well and is certainly not an area that ebay will explore.
