Came home with 57 of these type coin from the library just making change to get 30 dimes....only one Calvin and it got a strange spot on his chin...suspect PMD but sometimes it looked to turn into a possible 'U'...

Yep, it's Post Strike Damage. It probably came from the letters on the edge of the coin most likely.

@E&V nailed it--most likely the edge of another coin hit Coolidge right on the chin causing those parallel dents.

It is were nailed by another coin the edge would leave a mark with the letters leaving a raised device. (The edges devices are incuse)

Perhaps for the Coolidge $1 coins, but I was thinking more of coins with a reeded edge. You are right @coop, that what specifically caused this damage is unknown--at best we are offering our opinions.

I got this pic..looks like it might have Reed Marks ( not smooth on the incluse surface)..

First thought was how could a coin possibly mark another coin so deep ...then I looked at the coin with just a little magnifier and realized its not as bad as the scope makes it look..You guys know what you are looking at..

So I learned that..Thanks guys
