If you just want low grade Indians yea you don't need them, but if you wanna play in the deep end or gold end raw well....

You may very well be right on this. I have no idea. Its not my area of interest or expertise. But if I did venture there, you can guarantee I would be doing a LOT of research from all sources possible.

It is impossible to be an expert in everything for a collector

Also agreed. I don't collect everything though, so I am not concerned about all areas.

Someone who collects everything might need help other than personal study and research - I can only speculate.

To me the hobby is about the enjoyment of becoming as educated in an area I am interested as I can. I exhaust the available resources until I can be assured enough time/knowledge about the subject has been spent to not be taken. I have grown my collection an awful lot since I started back into the hobby seriously in 2011. I have not made any major mistakes in buying yet (and know it could still happen), but I have been gotten some incredible deals/coins in that time.

The little money I have lost so far from my mistakes has been from gambling on poor pictures online. Another incident was b/c I was anxious and found out how my eyes could "see" a variety in a picture that was not there in hand. I also did not return the items (though I could have) as a reminder to make sure I feel confident in assessing items before laying out the greenbacks.

For the last 7 years of being serious, my hobby has totally paid for itself.

Best to just not worry about selling.
