Where I live the oldest places to look are old school houses and churches. I got permission to search at a school that ran from 1907-1959. At first, I wasn't going to dig this because it didn't sound like any Canadian coin I heard before, but when I dug it, I knew it wasn't Canadian. It had enough detail to see I dug a 1926 2 Santimi from Latvia. I never would've expected to find a European coin in the middle of Saskatchewan, but I guess it just shows the history of the area.
