Don't attempt to remove the spots. The one on the 'WE' area looks like a carbon spot. You don't want to lower the value of a collectable coin by attempting to alter the surface. So leave it as it is.

I agree with Coop. The only thing that's safe to do is Acetone and Verdi-Care. These two things won't harm the coin. Although, you can do whatever you want with it since it's yours.

That's a tough one. I really like those strong 1941 DDO's but hardly ever see one.

I have both acetone and verdicare, haven't gotten around to trying it out on this one. I will try tonight and will keep you posted.

I let it soak in acetone for a few days, didn't appear to work. There are still the same spots and they aren't any better. Will try Verdi-Care now.
