1955 D Wheat, Reverse Die Chip?

Is this a die chip? I found a roll of 1955 D pennies where just over half of them have this issue. All of them have them in one of two different spots of the left side on the piece of wheat. Any comments appreciated, thanks!

Yep, these are Die Chips. They were pretty common as the U.S. Mint would push the die to its limits (until the die broke).
