this eye lid looks like it has some sort of doubling. Is it just from a well placed strike. after looking at it again it looks like it did take a hit.

Might be, but there isn't a class IV DDO listed in either the CONECA files or on coppercoins.com. That doesn't mean that you haven't discovered a new one!

The 1st & 3rd images looked interesting, but the middle one tell the real story. Looks like a bag mark from another coin. So I'm not convinced yet. Images taken in the position might help.

Hi,

You need to be familiar with what the entire eyelid is supposed to look like. What you are seeing is die polishing that removed the center portion of the eyelid making it look like two parts.

You can see evidence of die polishing on the bridge of the nose, the eyelid and the area in front of the nose.

If you fill in that blank area between what looks like doubling, you would have the entire eyelid again.

Here is one I've found as an example of doubled eyelid:
1964-D--LMC--Eye-Lid---2-New-Pics
One of the strongest. If you could read braille, you could find this one...
