Unanimous decision here.
Show us all that grade is not always the most important determinant on the marketability, and indirectly the value.

Like everyone else, #2.

No hesitation at all.

The 2nd one ... for the obvious reason. The 1st has splotchy coloring. However, the surfaces of the 1st coin are in better condition than the surfaces of the 2nd coin.

I wonder if the 1st coin would look better after taken through NGC's conservation process? Of course, you would have NGC regrade it afterwards.
You would probably want to ask the experts here if this is a good idea. This assumes the splotchy coloring of the coin really bothers you.

i love being the outlier here by so much...I'd pick #1 all day. although I love the eye appeal of the second coin, it graded lower because of all the reverse scratching which absolutely kills it for me.

the first piece is a technically higher grade, with more beautiful luster, while the second one is beautiful but inferior by far due to the reverse scratching which relative to the size of the coin seems pretty major. the only thing saving the second coin's eye appeal and hiding the scratches is that toning.
