When I was a kid, my brothers and I would put coins in a vise all the time. Beat them. Heat them. Bend them. I'll give my self credit for new meaning to Full Torch to a dime as we figuratively would burn up a dime. And then off to the local pizza shop to buy a slice of pizza with some Post Strike Damage pocket change. Pizza was still cheap in the 1970s... I can tell you with absolute certainty, that dime was kids having fun with tools. Pennies, Nickels, and Dimes, yes. Quarters, no way. They all went into arcade games at the pizza shop.
