There are not enough collectors of the Libertad series around- or at least it seems that way. It is a good thing because the mintages are tiny and if there was much more demand, it would drive the prices very high. I started collecting Mexican Libertads about 2 years ago and now it is 90% of my activity. There may not be a huge base, but there are some fanatics (in a good way) out there. Maybe this will inspire someone to consider Libertad collecting. Mexico Libertads started in 1982 (silver 1 oz). Other silver sizes and gold were introduced over various years. They are not monetized, so they are technically bullion rounds. The sizes range include 1/20 oz, 1/10 oz, 1/4 oz, 1/2 oz, 1 oz, 2 oz, 5 oz and 1 Kilo. I have several of the 1 oz bullion series already completed. I am working on the complete fractional bu set (1/20, 1/10, 1/4, 1/2 oz.). But the real challenge with Libertads are the proof coins. Some years only 500 or 600 of the 1 oz. Proof coins were made. A good half of the years they have been in production have been 5k or less for proof 1 oz coins. In the 2 oz size, the lowest mintage year drops to only 280 and in the 5 oz proof size, there is a year with only 100 made. I have not finished a complete set of 1 oz, 2 oz or 5 oz Proof series for the Libertad, but am working hard at it. I am learning that networking is a real key for this series. I will likely post some of my proof series sets (both NGC and raw) sometime. But today to just show the beauty of these coins, I will post only my "official" sets. The first is the 5 coin Proof Sets which started officially with COA in 2008. They have run continuously since 2008 with the exception of 2012, in which the fractional size proofs were not made. The COAs are limited to 1000 mintage.

The second set of sets I will post is the 7 coin Proof Sets which started officially with COA in 2014. They have run continuously since 2014. They contain 1/20, 1/10, 1/4, 1/2, 1, 2 and 5 oz proof coins. The COAs are limited to 250 mintage. The 2017 and 2018 mintage both show 250 on the COAs but it appears only 125 each year have actually been sold, due to distributor issues.

The third set of sets I will post is the Reverse Proof Sets. APMEX has a limited distribution, plus the Bank of Mexico has made some sets for employees. The Reverse proof started in 2015 with 1 oz coins and in 2017, 2 oz and 5 oz reverse proof coins were added. These have not been included in official sets, but are available as individual coins.
Total 1 oz Reverse Proof Mintages are 1500 for 2015, with 500 in APMEX sets and 1000 in Bank of Mexico 3 coin Employee Set 1500 for 2016 with with 1000 in APMEX sets and 500 individual (shown in wooden box) 1050 for 2017 with 500 in APMEX sets and the rest individual

Not everyone likes proof coins and many prefer to stick to the BU versions of bullion. I personally do not collect proof coins for any series except Libertad. In general I stick to BU.
Here is a complete set of BU 2 oz. Libertads. Unlike the 1 oz version which run 1982 to date, the 2 oz versions only started in 1996 and run to date.

I collect NGC versions for registry, in addition to raw, for all but the 5 oz and Kilo versions.
For those that enjoy NGC, I will post two pics below.
The first is for those that enjoy variations. Libertads have numerous variations. The one below is for a 2015 detached wing version of a 2 oz proof. There are only 3 specimens graded by NGC to date. The next one is a 2 oz reverse proof NGC. The first release period is over, so any future submissions will not be able to be classified as First Release. I believe it is the only NGC PL70 First Release to exist. I am waiting and trying to confirm.

That's a great collection! I think Libertads are among the most beautiful of bullion coins. Do you also have the older Libertad designs (1982-95)?

Thanks mtuma3! @Conner- that is awesome that you started collecting the 1 oz bu. It is how I started my addiction! They are not so scarce in bu you can't complete, but some of them are a harder chase, so it is still fun and a little challenge thrown in. @Zurie- I have tons of the older ones too. These were just my "boxed" type sets. Below are some BU 1982-1995, the older design. These are just one a year-- but with these older ones there are many varities, with at least 3 years having double dies in BU, a type I and II one year, etc. Plus in the proofs there double dies and plain edge versus lettered edge and with and without a dot in the "999" fineness, etc. The old ones can definitely be a lot of fun. With the proofs below, the proofs fractional started in 1992-1995 on the old design (and continued into the new design in 1996). The 92, 93 and 94 below are not impossible to find, although rare to find in the perfect condition original containers. The 95 is one I don't have yet in original container (the 5 piece plastic uncut). It is very hard to find even as stand alone coins without the original packaging.

I'm a Libertad collector and have been for a few years. I'll post a few up when I'm done working. I have no where near your collection but I've got a few.
The mintages are ridiculously low and it would be easy to drive the prices sky high with a little more interest.

Crazyglue you are the big dog when it comes to Libertad collecting. I have been at this since May of 2017 and sorry that I'm late to dinner when it comes to Libertads. But I'm here now and gobbling up everything Libertad that's with in my budget. I'm grateful that few people have discovered these gems, but prices due seem to be on the upswing. Mintage's for the year 2018 were quite high. But I did load up on 2017 fractional and 1 oz. and 2 oz. that was a good year. I'm a fanatic for anything 2014, I buy as many on those I can get my hands on. I'm mostly collect BU issues but do buy a five round proof sets from time to time. Keep this thread alive one and all.

rastatodd- thanks, your words warm my heart! But I only wish I was the big dog in Libertad collecting. Nice pick ups on the 2017. I agree with you on 2014. Something about that year just warms my heart (I suppose it is the low mintage). I also love 2007, I guess for the same reason. When I said Libertads are 90%, that was not really true. They are pretty much 100%. I have about stopped all my other world bullion collecting. Starting in 2017 and now 2018, I just can't keep up. I don't have the time or energy (or budget). It seems every day a new coin comes out. Debrajc keeps up-- I think she said 29 new series in 2017 alone- on top of the old series. Plus even tried and true series Koala and Kookaburra, or Britannia are no longer one per year. There is a lunar privy, shark privy, etc. Somalia has privies and special ANA coins every year. So I agree- keep this thread alive one and all- as Libertads are the thing to collect. No privies yet!! Although the mint is getting a little excitable around the reverse proofs and going a little too far (just my opinion). I will probably have to sell off some of my world bullion collection now- but I just had to acquire my two latest Libertads. They come up very rarely and at a good price even more rarely. 1999 Proof and 2000 Proof. Very hard to find
