I've spoken in the past to a Spanish CCF member with a great interest in buttons. Trouble is that, right now, I can't remember the ID. I'll try a search later today.
It is a button of MILICIA NACIONAL of Isabel II (it follows the 1836 uniformity regulation). These units were suppressed in 1844. It is an officer button because is a "cascarilla" type (silver sheet covering base metal).
Firstly thanks for all the replies they are really appreciated!
@ Veton muchas gracias! Great information! 'Imagine' this guy was running through my finca nearly 200 years ago, got snagged on a tree, and lost a button...
Can't find any links or info on these buttons, any ideas?
