Working at a gas station/casino I usually get a lot of old coins and old bills. Recently a customer has been paying with $1 Presidential coins, most of which are in a case. Others are not, this being one of them. Just wondering if this is a machine error or damage due to his carelessness.

This is Post Strike Damage (happened after it left the U.S. Mint). You can see the pushed over metal. It took a hit on the rim.
