1771 8 reales, Spanish Empire, Viceroyalty of Peru, Lima mint. This type was known as a 'Columnario', 'Dos Mundos' or 'Pillar Dollar' from the reverse design depicting the Pillars of Hercules, wrapped with the national motto of Spain 'PLUS ULTRA' (further beyond), framing two globes, representing the old and new worlds. You'll see an example of this type prominently displayed in the front of the Red Book in the section for "An Introduction to United States coins" (page 11 in my 2017 copy).

It seems that I've found this thread a bit late. At any rate, I won't be able to access my coins or photos for another month.

@numisma, well I'm looking forward to seeing what you've got. It seems like participation dwindles a bit with each century that we go back, so you have perfect timing in my book.

Just in case you missed all the others, here is one more Skilling from Denmark dated 1771 AD:

Nice coin!

1770 JR 8 Reales Bolivia / Viceroyalty of Peru

PTS (Potosi) = Bolivia.
LM (Lima) = Peru

(PTS PTS) = BOLIVIA

Here, I am using the designation appropriate to when the coin was minted. Neither the country of Peru or Bolivia existed at that time. Both the Lima mint and Potisí mint were governed by the Spanish Empire from the Viceroyalty of Peru.
