Great contributions today.
Interesting new places (Chur, Coesfeld) and more great examples from the mainstays of this era (Sweden, France, Low Countries).

Christina I VASA (1626-1689) Livonia, Swedish occupation SOLIDUS.CIVI.RIGE.43 SOLIDUS CIVITATIS RIGENSIS city of Riga CHRISTINA.D.G.D.ER.S CHRISTINA.DEI.GRATIA.DESIGNATUUM.REGINA.SVECLÆ Christina, by the grace of God, designated queen of Sweden Riga coin Reference: SB 62; Haljak 1525 Strange case that E between the G and R. If the E had been after the R, it could have been part of Regina, but that is not the case. The mint mark is also strange, in this period it should be a helmet in a heart.

Quote: jeton called 'capture of Thionville' with on the obverse a nice view of the jewel of the golden fleece Indeed! I think this is the largest representation of the golden fleece I've seen on a numismatic item (though we will also see some silver coins in about 150 days featuring this emblem). For those who want to pursue the history of the chivalric order (including why we often see the fleece combined with two "briquets,"): https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Order...olden_FleeceAs for Thionville, though today an out-of-the way place on the France-Luxembourg border, in historic times it was a strategic stronghold that endured sieges or battles in the Italian War (1558), the Thirty Years' War, the French Revolutionary Wars (1792), and also changed hands as a result of the Franco-Prussian War, WWI and WWII.
